As a Construction Superintendent , you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multifamily construction projects from start to completion. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. This role requires a deep understanding of multifamily construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams for seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight and Coordination
- Supervise all aspects of multifamily construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all project requirements are met.
- Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
Site Management
- Lead daily on-site activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and construction quality.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and resolve challenges in real time.
- Manage the workforce and subcontractors to ensure efficient operations on site.
Schedule and Budget Management
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Assist with managing budgets, tracking costs, and reporting financial updates.
- Address delays or unforeseen issues promptly, implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients during the construction phase, addressing concerns and providing regular updates.
- Communicate progress and challenges with internal teams and external stakeholders effectively.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all work meets or exceeds established quality standards and project specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures throughout the construction process.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and inspection records.
- Prepare and present progress reports to internal teams and clients as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in multifamily construction, including ground-up and renovation projects.
- Strong knowledge of multifamily construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to work with diverse stakeholders, including clients, architects, and project teams.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools is preferred.
