Front of the House Manager / Maitre 'd

The successful candidate will be performing the functions of the Front of House Manager / Maître ’D, and will possess the following requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years NYC fine-dining restaurant experience as a Floor Manager
- Strong communications and listening skills – the ability to effectively deliver accurate messaging to team and guests, be able to handle guests’ requests with the ability to problem solve and adjust to the needs of the guest.
- The ability to multitask and maintain a hospitable and approachable demeanor, attention to the details and impeccable service standards in a high-volume environment
- The ability to lead host team with effective mentoring and training.
- Effective time management skills, be able to anticipate the needs of the guest in front of them.
- Develop in conjunction with the owner sales leads for new business for restaurant and functions
- Implement all marketing initiatives given by the owner or owners representative
- Meet and greet any potential clients for restaurant functions
- Develop and maintain service standards and service sequence
- Supervise the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility on a daily basis.
- Anticipate and attend to the guest’s needs and desires immediately to include special events like birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions
- Maintain an effective telemarketing and reservation system.

- Take restaurant bookings when required during service hours
- Possess a - Positive Attitude, Enthusiasm, Creativity, Integrity and Accountability
- The ability to interact and build relationships with guests and team members
- Strategically plots reservations, and appropriately accommodates walk-ins to ensure a smooth shift, ensure all requests and notes are communicated to the staff as guests are seated.
- Must be able to perform both hands-on and service supervision of support staff.
- Knowledge of front of house operations and sanitation standards
- The ability to stand long periods of time, to walk to and from serval levels of the restaurant, carry up to 25 lbs.
- Administrative tasks as to the needs of the operation
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, consisting of but not limited to late nights, weekends and holidays
- Experience with restaurant POS – point of sales system, Mircosoft Office, RESY, Opentable.
- Attend and contribute to all scheduled meetings.
- Promote & sell the restaurant in conjunction with the owners & develop opportunities.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the owner or the owner’s representative
