The Facility - Gallup Indian Medical Center
The Gallup Indian Medical Center is a 99-bed hospital in Gallup New Mexico, on the border of the Navajo Reservation. Clinical specialties at the GIMC include internal medicine, cardiology, anesthesia, OB Slash GYN, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, radiology, pathology, pediatrics, psychiatry, emergency medicine, and urology. The workload at Gallup is one of the largest in the Indian Health Service with 250,000 outpatient encounters and 5800 inpatient admissions annually. GIMC is the largest staff of all Navajo area Client facilities.

Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
  • The Diagnostic Radiologist Technologist will perform a range of digital radiology examinations per request of the Medical Staff for use in clinical diagnosis, including patient screening and monitoring, patient therapy, and status.
  • Shall be sensitive to Cultural aspects of Native American Indians in providing health care as patients.
  • Shall independently perform digital radiology, C-ARM and Fluoroscopy services examinations.
  • The Diagnostic Radiologist Technologist will be required to complete PIMC mandatory training monthly or as needed.
  • Perform other assignments as determined by the Radiology Department Supervisor or COR.
  • The Diagnostic Radiologist Technologist services are for on-site coverage only.

Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist - REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Academic degree from an accredited Radiology Educational Program (Radiology).
  • Experience: Minimum one six (6) months experience in Diagnostic Radiologist Technologist (Digital Radiology) Licensure.
  • Certification: Current ARRT (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiology.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support).
