As a Payroll Specialist, you will handle the accurate and confidential preparation and review of payroll checks, vacation checks, and benefit deductions for employees. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and adheres to company policies related to payroll and time clock administration.

What We're Looking For: - Associate's degree in accounting or finance, OR
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrate the highest level of confidentiality
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Knowledgeable in professional telephone techniques and customer relations
- Familiarity with accounting, HR systems, and payroll systems
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds as needed
What You'll Do as a Payroll Specialist: - Oversee and execute various tasks related to payroll preparation and administration
- Review and investigate pay irregularities, making necessary adjustments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local forms and regulations
- Prepare and manage special reports for tax, social security, and insurance purposes
- Post payroll transactions to the ledger
- Handle child support and tax garnishment withholdings
- Manage 401(k) deposits and company matching contributions
- Review and analyze payroll, benefits, and tax procedures to recommend and implement best practices
- File necessary documents and maintain confidentiality of personnel files, status changes, and payroll records
- Distribute and mail paycheck stubs upon request
- Handle new hire and separation reporting
- Assist the manager as needed and perform additional duties as management directs
