Communications Managerto help support the Fremont Office.
About this role: Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Director, the
Communications Manager will help leverage Abode's mission to end homelessness to a wide variety of audiences by leading and extending the organization's reach, influence, fundraising, and impact through strengthening our communications and marketing efforts. By executing communications strategies across multiple channels and in multiple regions, the Communications Manager will seek to expand Abode's reach through thoughtful messages, graphics, and other communication vehicles. Abode is seeking a creative individual with an entrepreneurial mindset around media and digital engagement for this position. This role requires experience in social media, graphic design, and digital marketing and will be an integral contributor to the organization's programmatic, advocacy, and fundraising goals.

How you make an impact:- Manage Abode Services' social media presence and create all content, making sure posts are relevant and unique across all platforms. Plan all content by creating and regularly updating a social media calendar.
- Manage advertising and ad campaign strategy on social media, recommending a unique approach for each platform. As well as create the content for these paid campaigns to increase engagement, improve SEO results, drive web traffic, and promote initiatives to target and grow audiences.
- Create a reporting system for digital analytics across all platforms, along with recommendations based on results.
- Design all external materials and graphics for Abode, ensuring a creative and on-brand look is achieved, including all social media graphics, event collateral, and any other donor campaign or advertising/marketing materials needed.
- Ensure Abode is engaging in timely conversations online, being proactive with new online trends, news, and advocacy opportunities to interact with our followers.
- Assist in creating donor communication, including donor newsletters, e-blasts, and end-of-year appeals for various agency entities.
- Assist Communications and Marketing Director where needed with public relations materials and writing.
- Develop compelling client stories that will be used for donors and other audiences.
- Represent Abode at public presentations, events and meetings as needed.
- Ensure annual updating of various informational collateral including flyers and other communication materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
How you meet qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, advertising, or English is required.
- At least five years of experience in communications is required.
- Ability to translate complex information into consumer-friendly material.
- Strong skills in graphic design with a comfortability to be creative while working in the parameters of brand guidelines.

- Exceptional communications skills (both oral and written), with a demonstrated ability to develop messaging and materials that convey mission, programs, and impact effectively for target audiences.
- Deep familiarity with online engagement strategies and tools (including web, social media, and email), with demonstrated success using them to advance broader strategies.
- Strong experience and expertise integrating individual strategies and platforms into a comprehensive, long-term strategy to deepen key audiences' engagement.
- Knowledge of the AP Style and use of AP Stylebook.
- High level of proficiency with Office 365 applications.
- Must be deadline-driven and able to meet multiple deadlines at once.
- Reliable transportation and proof of valid California Driver's License and current auto insurance, along with a clean DMV record.

- Outstanding communication skills and high degree of emotional intelligence, cultural humility, with a proven record of accomplishment to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.
