Job Description
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Responsible for overseeing the complete range of inside sales activities within Ulbrich of Illinois.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(The essential duties and responsibilities listed below are not all encompassing. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned consistent with business requirements.)
• With guidance from the GM, supervise staff and activities of the inside sales department to ensure that UOI's monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals are achieved.
• With guidance from GM, supervise employees engaged in inside sales and customer service support in the sales of a wide variety of rolled stainless and spring steel stock to meet customer requirements.
• Manage assigned major customer accounts.
• With guidance from GM, coordinate various customer service activities with outside sales. representatives, production, accounting, order layout and scheduling.
• Develop proactive sales approach to with a focus on new products and sales growth.
• Build intelligence on products and markets (competitive feedback, identify sales opportunities).
• Work closely with all departments to ensure customer requirements and expectations are conveyed effectively throughout the organization.
• Working with the help of Mfg./Production control to proactively relay order status to customers and outside sales staff (copies of quotes, orders, and invoices, etc.) in a timely manner.
• Gather forecast data for MRP and inventory management.
• Review inquiries, sales reports, and new orders relevant to Division's sales performance.
• Approve special prices within guidelines of competitive situations.
• Conduct weekly sales meetings.
• Participate in committees to discuss company sales performance and planning matters.
• Responsible for interviewing and recommending the hiring of employees for the department.
• Train and instruct individuals.
• Assign and review work.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Provide necessary training and instruction to staff members and conduct sales meetings, as necessary.
• Regular attendance at work is required.
Responsible for complying with all quality system procedures and requirements documented in the Company's Quality System as pertains to this position
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:
A Bachelor's degree in business or related field (technical degree/training would be a plus). Previous inside sales-outside sales experience preferred along with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory responsibility.
Results -oriented sales professional with excellent communication, customer service, negotiation, organizational and interpersonal skills. Able to effectively supervise and motivate staff to achieve desired performance. Proficiency with the MS office suite products.
