About Crush'd
Nestled in the heart of Danville, Crush'd is more than a restaurant—it's a celebration of local California cuisine, sustainable practices, and innovative culinary experiences. With our unique 24-wine tap program, live charcuterie station, and commitment to local producers, we're reimagining what a modern, eco-conscious dining destination can be.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate Sous Chef who shares our commitment to sustainability, quality, and culinary excellence. In this pivotal role, you'll be a key architect of our farm-to-table vision, working closely with our Culinary Director, Francis Hogan, to craft memorable dining experiences that honor our local producers and delight our guests.
Responsibilities:
Culinary Leadership
- Orchestrate daily kitchen operations with precision
- Supervise and mentor our culinary team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
- Work closely with the culinary director to execute menu items that showcase our local, sustainable ingredients
- Manage our live charcuterie carving station, embodying the interactive dining experience that defines Crush'd
Operational Excellence
- Ensure impeccable food quality, presentation, and adherence to our sustainable sourcing standards
- Manage inventory and ordering with a keen eye on reducing waste
- Maintain rigorous health and safety standards
- Handle administrative tasks including staff scheduling, performance evaluations, budgeting and cost management
Requirements
- 3+ years of restaurant experience, with at least 2 years in a management role
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with professional kitchen equipment
- Passion for sustainable, locally-sourced cuisine
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
