The Perlant is a private social club rooted in wine. We are building a community for our members through shared experiences and exceptional food, wine and hospitality
The Perlant Server plays an integral role in our service team and will be key to setting the tone for the space and our members’ experience. With a deep-rooted understanding of hospitality, an enthusiasm for food and wine, and a keen ability to multi-manage, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team and execute the highest level of service in our space.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
- Greet members and guests warmly, using names and recognizing preferences.
- Provide personalized and attentive service, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
- Understand and accommodate special dietary requirements and preferences.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with members to anticipate their needs.
Dining Service:
- Present and explain menus, including daily specials, and provide detailed descriptions of dishes and beverages.
- Offer expert recommendations on food and wine pairings.
- Serve food and beverages with precision, ensuring proper service standards
Knowledge of Food and Beverage:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of our menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
- Stay updated on the club’s wine cellar and beverage offerings
- Understand and describe the origins and profiles of the food and beverages offered.
Presentation and Cleanliness:
- Set and maintain tables according to club standards, with attention to detail regarding tableware placement, linens, and glassware.
- Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the dining area at all times.
- Adhere to grooming and uniform standards, maintaining a professional appearance.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff, sommeliers, and other servers to ensure seamless coordination of service.
- Assist in training new servers and support staff when necessary.
- Collaborate with the events team to provide exceptional service for private parties and special club events.
Operational Duties:
- Accurately take orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff.
- Process payments and handle club members' billing accurately and discreetly.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize the dining experience.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and club policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fine dining or private club setting is an asset. Experience in high-end restaurants or hospitality is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of wine and food pairing is an asset.
Certification:
- Food safety and beverage handling certifications, where required.
Work Environment:
- High-end, exclusive club environment.
- Evening, weekend, and some holiday shifts will be required.
