Junior Network Engineer

Pay Rate - $28 - $35.00/hr (Depending on years of experience)
The Junior Network Engineer will support our client's day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of the network environments across the greater Chicago area. These services are running on an extensive Nokia system. As a Junior Network Engineer, you would work under the guidance of Senior Engineers on triaging network-related issues and outages and assist in upgrading or replacing vulnerable devices.

Qualifications:
- 0-3 yrs. of experience with networking protocols or troubleshooting with Cisco or Nokia technologies.
- Bachelors’ Degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering (or similar field) or equivalent experience.
- Experience with adhering to ITIL processes.
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be willing to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have reliable transportation to dispatch to network sites as needed
- Familiarity with Nokia is a plus!
- CCNA or Network+ Certification is a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Triage network-related issues or outrages to Senior Engineers
- Execute Bench Testing, IP Access configurations, and change management for lower-impact changes
- Handle transition of work to support technical operations
- Assist in large-scale migration of data center environment
- Participate in routing, switching, and wireless implementation across 130 locations and two core data centers.
- Support the administration and troubleshooting of network-related problems for Nokia Systems
- Visit field sites for any in-person triage or troubleshooting efforts
- Execute rundowns of field sites with applicable vendors when necessary
