Our client is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join its Washington, D.C. office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research, analyze documents, and identify key issues and relevant information; compile and prepare detailed documentation of findings.
- Perform legal and factual cite-checking, including preparing Tables of Authorities and Contents, shepardizing, and editing briefs to meet Bluebook standards and applicable court rules. Expert-level proficiency in cite-checking is required.
- Assist with depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations by coordinating the preparation of exhibits, appendices, and other materials. Summarize deposition and trial transcripts and exhibits.
- Manage all stages of litigation, including e-Discovery, e-filing, and trial preparation activities.
- Interact with clients, outside vendors, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel to gather and exchange relevant information.
- Coordinate with outside contractors, such as court reporters and filing services, including processing related billing and disbursement paperwork.
- Serve as a liaison between the project team, support departments, and other firm offices.
- Organize and circulate case materials to the project team as needed.
- Handle court filings, mailings, and service of process with courts, government agencies, and other entities.
- Maintain electronic databases for pleadings, files, calendars, and other case materials.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
