Job Summary: The Director of Quality will oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control within the steel manufacturing process. This role ensures that all products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations. The Director of Quality will lead a team of quality professionals and work closely with other departments to implement and maintain robust quality systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Quality Systems: Design and implement comprehensive quality management systems to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Oversee quality assurance and control processes, including inspections, testing, and audits to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the manufacturing process and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Customer Satisfaction: Address and resolve customer quality issues and complaints, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Training: Develop and conduct training programs for employees on quality standards and procedures.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance/control within the steel manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, proficiency in quality management software and tools.
