Business Analyst (Capital Markets)


Apex Systems is a IT staffing and consulting firm and we are looking for a Business Analyst with strong communication and requirement gathering skills in the capital markets domain (preference for liquidity), experience with Vlookup/Excel/Macro tables, knowledge of SQL and ability to write and execute test cases at a Big Five Bank.


Client: Big Five Bank


Contract: 1 Year rolling contract.


Location: Toronto, Downtown Core (1 day per week in-office - usually Monday's)

Job Description

The candidate will be joining team as a Business Analyst working on the liquidity application that is developing tools for Capital Market Senior Management to monitor the liquidity matrix for the bank from both a regulatory, and line of business perspective.


Responsibilities:

  • Major functions will be getting business requirements and translating those for the technology team and developers
  • Documenting the business requirements and developing testing
  • Completing System Integration Testing
  • Support end users with UAT testing
  • Daily production and business support to take business inquiries and provide analysis on issues with various business applications
  • Assist with the business users with the building of business model for data analysis.

Key Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of work experience in Capital Markets
  • Looking for candidate with experience across Capital Markets, the more areas they have touched the better.
  • Strong Capital Markets business knowledge of Asset Classes: Debt, Equity, Derivatives, Collateral, Loan & Commitments products
  • Understand the basics of Balance Sheet management
  • Ability to write SQL query
  • Strong Excel skills using macro, VLOOKUP, pivot table etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Write documents translating business requirement into technical language
  • Write and execute test plan and test cases
  • Previous Liquidity Management experience is an asset
