Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Stress Analysis

  • Perform static, fatigue, and dynamic stress analysis for aerospace structures to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Analyze primary structures (e.g., wings, fuselage) and secondary structures (e.g., fairings, brackets) using classical hand calculation methods and engineering principles.

2. Material and Structural Expertise

  • Evaluate and design both metallic and composite structures and components.
  • Apply repair techniques and select suitable failure criteria to address structural issues effectively.

3. Finite Element Methods (FEM)

  • Use advanced FEM tools to extract loads and solve complex engineering problems, ensuring accurate results for structural evaluations.

4. Engineering Documentation

  • Create detailed engineering stress reports, documenting findings and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Review and validate reports to maintain high-quality standards.

5. Customer and Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Participate in review meetings with clients, customers, and suppliers to present analyses and solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers to define project Scope of Work, develop execution plans, and ensure alignment with their requirements and objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience: 8–12 years of experience in stress analysis within the aerospace industry.
  • Expertise: Strong understanding of stress analysis for aerospace structures, including nacelle and Engine Build-Up (EBU) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Industry Knowledge

  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations, including FAA requirements.
  • Experience supporting aircraft fleets and resolving operational structural issues.

2. Technical Tools

  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as PATRAN, NASTRAN, FEMAP, and Canvas for modeling and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Material Review Board (MRB) and Structural Repair Manual (SRM) processes.

3. Design Software

  • Expertise in CATIA V5 and Enovia for 3D modeling and data management.

4. Regulatory Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 26 regulations related to continued airworthiness of transport aircraft.

5. Communication and Environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing virtual and on-site responsibilities.
