POSITION SUMMARY Archie and Truckee, the Reno Aces mascots, play a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for fans by delivering engaging, high-energy entertainment both at Greater Nevada Field and throughout the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Create and perform engaging entertainment such as skits, dances, improvisation, and crowd interaction to enhance the fan experience.
- Engage with fans throughout the ballpark, including on the concourse, in seating areas, and in suites, ensuring every interaction is memorable and positive.
- Maintain costumes, outfits, props, and other related items
- Preserve the mascot's unique character and identity through consistent body language, mannerisms, and professional representation at all times.
- Perform in costume for extended periods, demonstrating stamina and comfort while walking, standing, climbing stairs, and interacting with fans of all ages.
- Exhibit enthusiasm, high energy, and a positive attitude to sustain fan engagement throughout appearances and performances.
- Represent the Reno Aces at off-season events as needed, contributing to the team's community presence and outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with event managers to brainstorm and implement new forms of mascot entertainment.
- Adaptability in diverse environments, from high-energy ballgames to corporate or charitable events.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - One year of experience as a sports mascot, or strong willingness to complete mascot training
- Stamina to maintain a positive, proactive attitude in variable weather and potentially long games
- Ability to interact with and entertain a crowd of all ages
- Openness to training, coaching, and constructive feedback to consistently perform "in character"
- Exceptional body language skills for non-verbal communication and strong guest service skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to work the majority of all home preseason, regular season, and playoffs
- Completion of a satisfactory background check
WORK ENVIRONMENT - Work in fast-paced environment
- Most work is conducted outside in all weather conditions including cold, wind, rain, and heat
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Some travel required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT - Must be physically able to perform under extreme temperature conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
