Senior Full Stack Developer (Node.js, React, DevOps)

Location Address: Toronto

Work arrangements: Hybrid (once a week on Wednesdays; HM open to fully remote candidates)

Contract Duration: ASAP until October 31st, 2025

The global AI & ML software engineering team is focused on designing and implementing innovative, intelligent software solutions across the Bank’s business lines.

Your role will be an integral part of the organization’s AI/ML strategy dedicated to creating value for the Bank and its customers.

You will work closely with a team of data scientists, data engineers, AI/ML product managers, and other software engineers to understand global business partner challenges and processes in order to turn those insights into working software solutions.

Project : Participating in AIDox — MSPI use case is an RBBO-funded initiative. Currently productionalized on GDAP On-Prem, the application needs to be transitioned to GCP.

Must-Have skills:

1. 10+ years of work experience in software engineering, web application, and full-stack development.

2. 5-7 years of work experience with modern JavaScript, NodeJS, Express, React/Redux, and related toolsets.

3. 5-7 years of work experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python and Bash preferred (other languages also accepted).

4. Experience working with databases and key-value data stores (e.g., MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL)

5. Experience with DevOps and Cloud technologies. E.g., GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure.

6. Experience using Linux and consistent use of version control (e.g., git)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of Python (e.g., Flask, FastAPI) is a very strong plus

• Experience with information retrieval systems/search engines such as Lucene, Solr or Elasticsearch is a strong plus

• Experience with AI and Machine Learning (e.g., GenAI, LTR) is a strong plus

• Advanced experience with Docker/Docker Compose, Kubernetes, GCP is a strong plus

• Experience writing/maintaining Helm Charts (preferable) and working with other IT Automation software (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a strong plus

• Experience with building/using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., ArgoWF/ArgoCD) is a plus

• Experience with web crawlers (e.g., Apache Nutch) is a plus

• Experience with using a message broker-like service (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, bonus points for GCP Pub/Sub)

Best vs. Average Candidate:

Best Candidate: Meets all the technical requirements and possesses additional desirable skills. Their resumes are clean, short, and concise, clearly presenting their experience. Someone who is not only experienced but also good at executing on the requirements and able to deliver the requirements on time, has great communication skills to be able to collaborate with team members and is detail-oriented.

Average Candidate: Has had multiple jobs over the past four years, which may indicate less stability or focus in their career path.

Candidate Review & Selection

• 1st round MS Teams video interview – Hiring Manager and Technical team contributor (45 minutes)

o Introductions and discuss project details and some technical questions

• 2nd round MS Teams video interview – Panel with technical team (1.5 hours)

o Discuss the candidate’s skills/experience and gauge the depth of their knowledge

o Assess match for team culture
