Our client, a premier processor of fresh-cut, value-added fruits and vegetables in Canada, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team in Mississauga, Ontario. The role involves ensuring the maintenance and repair of production machinery to maintain optimal performance.

Job Overview


The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining production machinery, conducting regular inspections, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operations. The role requires flexibility to work shifts as per business needs, including Saturdays.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform repairs and maintenance for designated areas.
  • Regularly inspect food processing equipment following Health & Safety Procedures.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, and replacing filters.
  • Procure necessary parts as instructed.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Install, dismantle, repair, reassemble, and move machinery in the food processing line.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and operational protocols.
  • Handle other tasks as assigned.


Job Terms


  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week).
  • Probationary Period: 3 months or 480 hours, whichever is longer.
  • Shift Requirements: Must be flexible to work 7 days a week as per operational needs; Saturday shifts are required.
  • Compensation: $26–$28 per hour, negotiable based on experience and licenses.
  • Benefits: Group benefits available upon completing the probationary period.


Qualifications


  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
  • Manual dexterity and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Related experience in food processing equipment is an asset.
  • Millwright License is required.
