Automation Engineer

Apex Systems , a global IT services provider, has an opening for an Automation Engineer within our staffing practice. The ideal candidate will have experience with CI/CD , API , and SQL database management on the back end.

Location: Downtown Toronto

In Office Frequency : 1-2x a month max

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will

be innovative, proactive, and passionate about automation and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the PTS team in implementing robust platform deployment solutions
  • Design and implement comprehensive automation solutions for operational efficiency
  • Develop event-driven and data-driven frameworks for zero-touch service mitigation and change

Bachelor degree in Computer science, Engineering degree or related field


Great-to-haves

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex data models
  • Expertise in database management systems (SQL, NoSQL, Time-series DBs)
  • Hands-on experience in API design and implementation (FastAPI, Strawberry, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience in message queue ( Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • Experience with Gitlab/Github CI/CD pipeline, Jenkins, or similar workflow tools
  • Experience with NFV infrastructure platforms (OpenStack, OpenShift, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with IaC ( Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
  • Experience in public cloud environment (GCP, AWS)
  • Experience with Linux, server management, service mesh, virtualization and containerization
  • (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum/Kanban
  • Experience of mobile network and operator-grade networking
  • Mastering Software Development Experience (Bash, Python, JavaScript)
  • Experience AI platforms, including UnicornAI, ChatGPT, VertexAI, Gemini, Claude 3
  • Deep understanding of the wireless core network and mobility
  • Master or PhD in Computer science or Engineering degree or related field
