The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing process to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves managing production staff, maintaining equipment, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and driving continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage daily production activities to ensure products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to quality specifications.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate production staff, including setting performance goals and conducting regular performance reviews.
- Production Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and operational goals.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational effectiveness.
- Cost Management: Manage production budgets, control costs, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and analyze production reports, including performance metrics, and provide insights to senior management.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with the Purchasing team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- ERP Systems Proficiency: Utilize ERP systems (SAP) to track and manage production data and optimize resource allocation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Production Manager is responsible for providing direction, coordination, and evaluation of the individuals within their team and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, directing work, and appraising performance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of meaningful, related experience within a manufacturing environment coupled with an understanding of business practices.
- Preferred experience with electrical wire harnesses, cable assemblies and/or control cabinets
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP).
- Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt would be a plus.
