Title: CNC/VEDM Technician
Job Summary:
The CNC/VEDM Technician programs and sets up all manual and CNC tool room equipment in a production environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The CNC Technician carries out several essential functions.
- Capable of setting up, programming and running all Tool Room CNC, HSM/VEDM equipment.
- Manufactures quality parts while meeting production demand.
- Capable of self-Inspection for quality of all parts manufactured.
- Capable of performing machine maintenance and diagnosing machine tool problems using technical support.
- Teaching toolmakers, machinists and apprentices CNC techniques and programming skills when needed.
- Practices continuous improvement.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Orders and controls HSM cutting tools and VEDM electrode inventories as needed.
- Contributes to the development and manufacturing process related to HSM and VEDM.
Required Skills/Abilities :
- Ability to understand Insert Molding and Progressive Die Tooling in a job shop environment.
- Ability to work in Pro E and program using Pro Manufacturing software.
- Ability to estimate times needed to complete details.
- Ability to manage and overcome workflow constraints.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Knowledge of ISO and QS quality systems.
Education and Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a stamping and molding-manufacturing environment.
- 2-4 years’ experience operating CNC equipment.
- 1-2 years CAD/CAM
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
