Must-have-skills:

1. Confluent Event Streaming Platform (Confluent Kafka/Confluent Cloud platform).

2. KSQL DB.

3. Schema registry and Kafka connectors.

Primary job duties/responsibilities:

- 3+ years with Confluent Event Streaming Platform (Confluent Kafka/Confluent Cloud platform); hands-on experience with KSQL DB, Schema registry and Kafka connectors.

- Ability to lead design and implement Kafka based streaming and messaging solutions across on-prem and Confluent Cloud platform and provide technical direction. Hands-on experience with Kafka Brokers and understanding of underlying functionality. - Hands-on experience with Schema Registry and understanding of underlying functionality and understanding of underlying implementation.

- Create guidelines, procedures, and best practices for Kafka administration, development teams, and establish standards and conventions for the use of Kafka. Good understanding of Kafka client (Producer and Consumer) functionality.

- Guide and support upgrade/maintenance of Confluent Kafka platform from current version to latest release. Also support enhancements to confluent cloud clusters.

- Collaborate among development teams, product managers, operations teams, and architect groups to integrate Kafka into applications and data pipelines.

- Good understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles and methodologies; able to learn and adapt to new developments in the Kafka ecosystem. Some weekend work to support Production Changes and major Incidents Escalations.
