KCMR is a non-commercial Christian radio station with easy-listening, inspirational music broadcast in stereo 24 hours a day. KCMR is streamed for our worldwide listeners. KCMR is the only listener-supported, locally owned and operated radio station in Mason City, Iowa. The Development Director supplements financial support by securing underwriters for music, programs, and hourly news and weather reports.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site (with travel) role for a Director of Development at KCMR Radio in Mason City, IA. The role involves overseeing the organization's revenue generation efforts. Will need to become an independent contractor and work on a commission-only basis.

-Securing new underwriting and sponsorships for Inspiration 97.9 KCMR FM Radio

-Servicing and renewing existing business underwriting and business sponsorship accounts

-Keeping accurate records of all acounts

-Writing and producing business underwriting and business sponsorship spots

-Coordinating production with station personnel

-Making sure all underwriting/sponsorships air as directed

-Following Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations and station guidelines for underwriting and sponsorship

-Other responsibilitie as needed or assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications

• Proven experience in underwriting, fundraising, development, or donor relations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to meet underwriting goals and drive revenue growth
• Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Knowledge of the radio broadcasting industry is advantageous
