Job Description:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Piping Engineer for a contract role based in Calgary, AB, working with a prominent Oil & Gas producer in the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piping design, installation, and maintenance within industrial sectors, with a focus on field experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects for a key player in the Oil & Gas industry.Key Responsibilities:Perform piping design and engineering tasks for industrial projects with a focus on Oil & Gas facilities, ensuring adherence to applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.Review and analyze piping layouts, systems, and specifications to identify and resolve any design, material, or installation issues.Provide technical support to construction teams in the field, ensuring piping systems are installed according to approved designs and specifications.Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and vendors to ensure effective project execution.Perform field inspections to assess piping system installations, modifications, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.Support the preparation of technical reports, documentation, and as-built drawings.Ensure quality control and safety standards are adhered to during all stages of the project.Troubleshoot and resolve any piping system issues that arise during construction or post-installation.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.A minimum of 5 years of prior field experience in piping engineering, with exposure to industrial environments (preferably Oil & Gas or petrochemical sectors).Strong understanding of piping design, material selection, and industry codes (ASME, ASME B31.3, etc.).Experience with AutoCAD, PDMS, or other piping design software is an asset.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a hands-on approach in the field.Ability to travel to and from job sites as required, and willingness to work on-site for extended periods.Preferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for licensure in Alberta.Experience in project management or coordination roles.Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the Oil & Gas sector.
