About Socomec Inc.Socomec Group (Socomec) is a global leader in electrical equipment engineering and manufacturing, specialized in low voltage energy performance.Socomec NAM (NAM) is Socomec’s organization overseeing all operations in North America.Energy Storage Systems (ESS) is an emerging business line, comprised of modular systems for on-grid and off-grid applications.About this roleThe incumbent will prepare professional commercial proposals for a broad range of ESS customers. This role will lead discussions with customers to understand their specific applications and needs. The incumbent will act as a technical expert in ESS and participate in customer presentations, to help educate customers about our products and solutions. Working in a matrixed environment, with many stakeholders, on multiple projects, the incumbent will be part of a high-performance global team. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Work directly with members of the North American sales team and engineering team to generate the best competitive commercial proposals to enhance sales of our energy storage solutions (ESS)Collect, review and analyze customer requirements and specifications; select the right product and solution to meet customer needsPrepare professional commercial proposals for a broad range of customers: utilize a configurator for standard applications and prepare custom-made proposals for specialized applications Apply knowledge of product costing and specific terms and conditions to develop each proposalProvide expert technical advice to customers and internal teams concerning the various applications of ESS, and componentsDefine new proposal processes, ensure compliance and suggest process improvements Lead the development and continuous improvement of the configurator for standard applicationsWork closely with the Manufacturing/Operations Department to ensure ESS products are manufactured, released and shipped in a timely mannerAttend customer meetings in support of the sales team, providing technical and commercial support related to our ESS productsCollaborate with the Sales Team to determine appropriate pricing and strategies to win new business; assist sales professionals to negotiate the technical aspects of contractsShare a deep understanding of the ESS marketplace, platforms and industry developments, to assist the sales team with technical support and product configuration guidanceHelp develop pricing strategies, costing and pricing sheets Assess technical and commercial details to manage risks and ensure successful project outcomesTrain new members of our sales team on our products and solutions.Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and collateral materialAssist in the development and management of sales tools and support materialsCoordinate and analyze the overall sales pipeline utilizing our CRM software, SalesforceWork directly with our R&D/Engineering team and Business Application teams to develop customer-centric ESS solutions; capture customer technical and application requirements to help shape products in compliance with applicable regulations and standardsPrepare a monthly executive summary concerning the ESS sales pipeline and proposal activitySupport the core values of the company, fostering a positive, innovative working environmentEssential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electrical engineering is preferred) 7+ years of professional work experience in the power industryDemonstrated experience working in energy storageStrong experience preparing technical commercial proposals (minimum 3 years)Strong sales presentation skills, with ability to clearly communicate the benefits and value of ESS product offeringsKnowledge and experience related to marketing Ability to solve complex technical problems and effectively communicate results and recommendationsExperience working with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce)Entrepreneurial, resourceful, energetic, self-directed; focused on the achievement of strategic goalsConsistently meets or exceeds established objectivesEncourages and demonstrates accountabilityAnticipates and communicates in advance any potential issues and their impactIs client-centric, proactively anticipates and actions business needsCommunicates clearly and professionally with customers, prospective customers, and all levels of employeesExcellent English language communication skills (written and verbal)Strong technical writing skills; able to clearly convey concepts in writing and prepare concise technical proposals related to energy storage systemsStrong leadership, interpersonal skills and networking/collaboration abilitiesStrong project management and organizational skills.Excellent computer literacy. High proficiency with MS Office and Google tools.Must possess and maintain an unrestricted valid driver’s licenseMust be legally authorized to work in CanadaAvailability for occasional travel to international destinations (e.g., USA and Europe); must possess and maintain a valid passport for international travel.Working ConditionsThis role is located in an office environment, with regular visits to the manufacturing environmentMust be available for possible business travel to locations in Canada, USA and Europe.
