Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable laws. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including earnings, deductions, benefits, taxes, and direct deposit information.
  • Verify timesheets and attendance records for accuracy and address discrepancies.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other tax-related documents.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll reports for management.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on employee onboarding, terminations, and benefit deductions.
  • Stay current on changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
