Job Summary:
The Process Safety Engineer specializes in ensuring the safety and integrity of manufacturing processes and systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Primary responsibilities include identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with various processes, equipment, and operations.
Job Duties:
Perform quantitative and qualitative risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, PHA, FMEA) to evaluate and prioritize identified hazards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and recommend safety measures.
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Process Safety Management program.
Develop, maintain, and review P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Oversee completion of PHA recommendations and ensure compliance of enterprise PSM metrics in accordance with OSHA PSM Guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certification in process safety (e.g., Certified Process Safety Professional) is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a related industry.
In-depth knowledge of process safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in process safety software and tools.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in cross-functional teams.
