We're currently seeking an Electrical Engineer in Maintenance for a leading manufacturer of stainless steel, nickel, and aluminum alloy products in the heavy metal industry in Freeport, IL. As an Electrical Engineer of Maintenance, you will play a vital role in electrical engineering and maintenance responsibilities, working on CAPEX projects, continuous improvement projects, and training / giving direction to the maintenance team. 60% Electrical Engineering and 40% providing direction to Maintenance.

Job Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Has experience programming's PLCs, ideally from scratch.
• Proficiency with AC Drives
• Ability to use AutoCAD anytime they are designing or modifying.
• Experience working on CAPEX projects

Nice to Have:

• Bachelor’s/Associate’s in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related would be preferred but not absolute.
• Experience working with Siemens PLCs.

Responsibilities:

• 60% Engineering
• 85% (primary focus) of Engineering functions will be working on internal continuous improvement projects or making small machine upgrades. For example, this person will be going into the programs and looking where the machine can operate more efficiently based on how it’s written.
• 15% of the Engineering work is going to be spent on new CAPEX projects such as reaching out and coordinating with vendors, commissioning equipment, scoping new machines, etc.
• 40% Maintenance
• Will be giving direction and showing technicians how things are done.
• Training technicians so if they are having reoccurring issues that force engineering to step in, they can coach the team to be more efficient for the future.

1st Shift: with Flexible start times (7am-3:30pm)

Location : Freeport, IL

Position : Electrical Engineer of Maintenance

Pay : $100k – $125k

Bonus : Monthly quality incentive that can be $200/month extra and a perfect attendance bonus for the month which is a $100 VISA card. Can be a total of $300/month.
