DBA Operational Support
Location: Salt Lake City UT
6 months with extension – rotating weekend support shifts
Pay: 48 an hr
3+ years of experience in the job offered or a related Database Administration role
Requirements:
• Strong working knowledge on DBA tasks, troubleshooting and analytical skills
• IT Experience with Solid understanding of Banking, Retail, healthcare and Insurance domains and its processes
• Requires experience and familiarity within either DB2 or Sybase environments
• Flexible to work in weekend shifts.
• Good Interpersonal skills to interact with global Teams.
• Knowledge in job scheduler bash; Autosys, cron jobs etc...
• Ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment that includes a global focus.
• Bachelors Degree preferred
Day to Day
• Provide operational support for database administration as part of the Technology Services Operations Team.
• Support global production environments for databases like Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, Postgres, MongoDB, Hadoop, MSSQL, Oracle, and more.
• Manage and maintain database infrastructure, including hardware like Sun, Dell, and HP servers, with periodic upgrades and optimizations.
• Monitor and ensure database health, application, and replication alerts; handle user requests and provisioning activities.
• Perform root cause analysis on system failures and implement remediation solutions.
• Coordinate with application and IT support teams to address critical issues promptly.
• Schedule maintenance jobs using Autosys and adhere to change management procedures.
• Lead business continuity tests, manage datacenter migrations, and oversee end-of-life database software and hardware projects.
• Develop and implement operational policies, provide database training, and support file system administration on Linux servers.
