The Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant is excited to add a Chef de Cuisine to our team. This individual will facilitate an elevated Rio experience while maintaining the core values that have given us 39 years of success!
Responsibilities include:
- Running and executing daily kitchen operations with the guest experience in mind.
- Supervision of food preparation and line procedures to ensure that all prep and menu items are prepared to a high standard.
- Managing food and labor costs through accurate inventory counts, efficient ordering, and scheduling according to forecast.
- Developing and coaching staff so that every team member has the tools they need to succeed.
- Meeting established standards while enhancing our practices and procedures as we strive to elevate our dining experience.
- Menu development in collaboration with the GM and executive team.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a Sous or Chef de Cuisine role in a full-service, professional restaurant environment. Being bilingual is a plus!
- Able to work some evening shifts.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills are needed.
- Serve Safe certification is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move throughout the restaurant for extended periods of time (up to 10-12 hours per day).
- Must be able to carry 50 lbs. for distances of up to 10 ft.
- Must be able to balance and move up to 25 lbs. for distances of up to 50 ft.
- Must be able to understand and respond to employees’ and guests’ requests in a loud environment.
- Must be able to visually recognize proper food presentations and food quality.
- Must be able to work in an environment that can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
