About TuCha
TuCha is an innovative boba and Asian dessert shop launching its flagship store in Koreatown, Los Angeles, in early 2025. Known for our creative edge, we collaborate with Catherine Zhang (@catherine.desserts), winner of Zumbo’s Just Desserts Season 2, to craft unique and exciting dessert offerings.
We are seeking Pastry Chefs to join our growing team and work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to prepare high-quality desserts and maintain the smooth operation of the pastry kitchen.
Role Overview The Pastry Chef is a hands-on role focused on preparing desserts, supporting kitchen operations, and contributing fresh ideas to keep our menu exciting. You will work as part of a collaborative team, ensuring that TuCha’s desserts meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Reports to: Executive Pastry Chef and Store Manager
Compensation - Pay : $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience and proficiency).
Key Responsibilities Dessert Preparation
- Prepare desserts following recipes and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to execute and refine menu items.
- Assist in creating visually appealing, delicious desserts.
Kitchen Support
- Assist with daily kitchen tasks, including setup, cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow food safety regulations and ensure compliance at all times.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and team to meet production schedules.
- Contribute fresh ideas to enhance the dessert menu.
Requirements - 1+ years of professional pastry experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of basic pastry techniques and equipment operation.
- Creativity and a passion for desserts.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours - Part-time positions :
- Pastry Chef 1 : 12-16 hours per week.
- Pastry Chef 2 : 24-32 hours per week.
- Weekend availability required but rotated between chefs, ensuring only one weekend day is worked at most.
