We are an artisan bakery in Greenpoint, Brooklyn that specializes in wild-fermented and gluten-free, vegan baked goods. We are growing and looking for an experienced pastry chef/head baker to join our team.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years experience working in a production bakery, managing others, with a positive attitude and creative spirit. Knowledge of vegan/gluten-free baking is a huge plus but not a requirement.
The ideal candidate is:
- punctual, reliable, with good problem solving skills, and can work well with others.
-Ability to weigh, mix and bake products based on recipes and kitchen standards
-Open to learning new techniques, such as vegan baking and wild fermentation
-Attention to detail, thoughtful and organized in your work
-Comfortable with working for 8+ hours, standing, lifting, portioning etc
-Must be eligible to work in the U.S/have food handlers license
-Experience managing a team of bakers
-Responsible, reliable, and have good communication skills.
-Creative, positive problem solver and thinker!
We speak both Spanish and English in the kitchen. (Tenemos un equipo diverso con la mayoria que puede hablar ingles y español.)
Hours are Mon-Friday, we offer daily staff lunch and breads/treats to take home weekly.
