Summary
The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing manufacturing operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Activities
- Overseeing quality control throughout the production process.
- Assisting the Production Manager with administrative tasks like production schedules and appointing labor
- Creates appropriate paperwork for production
- Improves scheduling, production process, and workflow, while minimizing labor and waste
- Upholds food safety, USDA, FDA, GMPs, HACCP, and other food-related compliances
- Identifies and implements solutions for improving the department and organization
- Promotes the growth of the production team through ongoing training and mentoring
- Provides continuous updates and recommendations to management
- Coordinating and reporting day-to-day activities with the Production Manager
- Assisting in hiring and training new team members
- Writes original procedures, maintains the accuracy of existing procedures
- Establishes goals for production supervisors and leads
- Holds weekly production meetings
- Holds employee training and safety meetings
- Clearly and regularly provides management with production, employee and equipment updates and issues as they arise
- Assists in scheduling regular maintenance on the equipment and handles issues as they occur.
Preferred Skills
- Preferred Knowledge of USDA, FDA, GMPs, ISO 9001, HACCP, and OSHA regulations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish ideal, some Spanish required.
Educations & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business management, food and beverage management, etc) or experience in the food and beverage industry
- Minimum Experience: 2-4 Years Assistant Production Management.
