Job Details:
• Location: Splitting time between Gardena, CA 90247 and Norwalk, CA 90650.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week, mostly day shifts (Monday-Friday), but hours may vary.
• Duration: Minimum 1 month, possibly longer (covering a leave of absence).
• Dress Code: Scrubs.
Role Overview:
• Primary Function: This person will be responsible for purchasing medications and other items for the pharmacy department while also performing inpatient pharmacy duties.
• Secondary Function: They should be able to test employees for IV competencies, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Purchasing & Inventory Management
o Ordering and managing stock of medications and pharmacy supplies.
o Ensuring proper documentation and tracking of inventory.
o Coordinating with vendors for timely supply of medications.
2. Inpatient Pharmacy Operations
o Pyxis Filling: Restocking and maintaining automated medication dispensing systems.
o IV Compounding: Preparing sterile IV medications.
o General pharmacy technician duties in a hospital setting.
3. Employee IV Competency Testing
o Evaluating staff on their IV preparation skills.
o Ensuring compliance with hospital and state regulations.
Job Requirements:
• Pharmacy Technician Experience: Strong background in hospital/inpatient pharmacy operations.
• Purchasing Experience: Experience in buying medications and supplies for a hospital pharmacy.
• IV Competency Training: Ability to test and evaluate employees' IV preparation skills.
