Responsibilities:

• Install servers and network equipment into cabinets and racks
• Perform CAT6 and fiber optic patch cabling installations and support
• Troubleshoot Layer 1, 2, and 3 LAN connections
• Conduct break/fix hardware maintenance on mission-critical systems (e.g., BIOS updates, hard drives, memory, RAID controllers)
• Measure cabinet power load and consumption
• Manage inventory for servers, components, and cables using DCIM software
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of operations, best practices, and procedures
• Independently execute projects as needed

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience:
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale data center (not desktop support or help desk)
• Experience with physical hardware installations, server movements, and structured cabling
• Familiarity with fiber optics, LAN connections, and break/fix hardware
• Ability to perform complex wiring installations (including overhead cable routing and server cabinet management)
• Must be comfortable working the 2nd shift (4PM-12AM) on a regular basis
• Must have reliable transportation (limited public transit options to the site)
