Job Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the SC Youth ChalleNGe Academy Director. Assist Director with managing, planning, budgeting, staffing and operations of the SC Job ChalleNGe Program. Coordinates program design, implementation and daily administrative activities. Plans, develops, implements, and monitors the Mission, Vision, Goals and Objectives of the SC Job ChalleNGe Program. Reviews program objectives to determine compatibility with agency's mission; assesses programs and implements policy, procedure, or rule changes. Coordinates service delivery processes for programs administered by the agency. Conducts special projects at management's request, prepares and presents reports. Responsible for the accountability, supervision, health, welfare and safety, and esprit-de-corps of assigned cadets and staff. Manages and oversees the recruiting, retention, and post-residential monitoring program for the cadets. Responsible for coordination and management of human resources, Budget/Finance, Procurement, counseling, training and education in support of the cadets and the Program. Provides feedback to Director and employees, and encourages employee growth and development. Connect and build partnerships with youth serving organizations, agencies and local/state businesses. Assist with short- and long-term strategic planning. Effectively supervises and manages staff and budgetary resources. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor's degree, 2 years of supervisory experience, experience working with youth and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications A master's degree, 4 years of supervisory experience, 2 years of experience working with youth and relevant program experience.
Additional Comments Must have and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license. Must be physically and mentally capable of acquiring certification in CPR and first aid. Must have leadership and management skills, and the ability to prioritize and organize task, understand adolescent development. Must have knowledge, skills, demeanor and courtesies associated with a military structure. Must have the ability to supervise and work independently with cadets, staff and other agency personnel. Prior military experience desired but not required.
