Virginia Transformer Corp. is seeking a strategic and results-driven
Chief Accounting Officer (CAO)
to lead and manage all accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions. The CAO will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain adherence to public company reporting standards, and implement best-in-class accounting processes to support company growth. Manufacturing experience, particularly within capital equipment, is highly desirable.Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and submission of
SEC filings and external financial reports , ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.Manage public company
reporting requirements , including quarterly and annual reports, earnings releases, and audit processes.Oversee
the preparation of financial statements and reporting , providing key insights to senior management and external stakeholders.Develop and execute financial strategies in collaboration with the CFO to support long-term company growth and profitability.Direct the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.Monitor financial performance against targets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.Collaborate with plant managers and operations teams to ensure financial targets are met and production plans are supported.Lead the optimization of capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning and tracking, ensuring effective resource allocation and returns.Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and internal controls through the adoption of best practices and technological upgrades.Ensure compliance with
GAAP, SEC, and other regulatory standards , maintaining strong governance and controls.Partner with external auditors, legal teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful audits and regulatory compliance.Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
CPA designation
is required.10+ years of progressive financial leadership, with at least 3-5 years in a senior accounting role within a public company environment.Experience in SEC reporting and preparing financial reports
is essential.Strong knowledge of
public company reporting requirements , including SOX compliance and external audits.Experience in manufacturing or capital equipment industries is a strong plus.Expertise in financial reporting, GAAP, and regulatory compliance.Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools.Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Effective leadership and team management experience, with a demonstrated ability to develop talent and build cohesive teams.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.Seniority Level:
