Job Description
*Job Overview*
We are seeking a skilled *Pharmacist* to join our pediatric team in a prestigious *Children’s Hospital* setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in inpatient pharmacy practice and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, pediatric-focused environment. As a pediatric-trained pharmacist, you will play a critical role in the care of children, providing expert medication management and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals across various pediatric conditions.
You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team while gaining invaluable experience in pediatric pharmacotherapy.
*Compensation:*
* *Travel Pay Rate:* $2800.00 per week
* *Local Pay Rate:* $2320 per week
*Responsibilities*
* Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of prescribed medications.
* Dispense medications accurately and efficiently while adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
* Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
* Administer immunizations and manage pain management protocols as needed.
* Perform IV insertion and IV infusion procedures when required, ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
* Compounding medications as per prescription requirements while maintaining quality standards.
* Manage inventory effectively to ensure the availability of medications and supplies.
* Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy for patients.
* Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and patient interactions.
*Skills*
* Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support effective medication administration.
* Proficient in IV insertion techniques and IV infusion protocols.
* Experience in compounding medications is preferred but not mandatory.
* Ability to manage inventory efficiently, ensuring proper stock levels are maintained.
* Familiarity with pain management strategies and practices.
* Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
* Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is a plus.
