ITD is hiring a Senior Research Analyst located at our office in Rigby, Idaho. The incumbent in this position will collect samples and test materials used by the department in the construction and maintenance of the state highway system. Note: This position travels up to 50% of the time. A driver's record check is required before a final job offer is made. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: + Assists with the sampling and testing of pavement and soils to help with the planning process. + Performs laboratory testing of construction materials for quality acceptance. + Performs a variety of construction testing analyses using the most current testing procedures for asphalt, asphalt pavement, cement, concrete, steel, aggregate and soil. + Confirms asphalt pavement test strip qualities. + Receives samples from consultants and contractors, maintaining chain of custody and inventory requirements. + Prepares test reports, reviewing data entry for accuracy and compliance with specification standards. + Responds to requests for information on previous and in-progress analyses. + Maintains a safe and clean laboratory environment + Ensures that the District Laboratory maintains its licensure as an AASHTO certified laboratory. + Performs regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
