Your impact

As a Sediment Remediation Geologist or Engineer based anywhere in the United States (US), you’ll play a crucial role in cleaning up our communities and improving our environment. You’ll work on sediment remediation and other environmental projects throughout the US with our teams of project managers, designers, subject matter experts, and other scientists and engineers. With over 25 years of success, Jacobs is a trusted partner in delivering impactful sediment projects to our US Federal and Private clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Work Planning : Prepare work plans, scopes of work for subcontractors, and other tasks necessary to mobilize for field work supported by project managers and subject matter experts.
  • Execute Field Work : Participate and lead field activities including sediment characterization and remediation activities.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting : Analyze data, prepare technical reports, and participate in the design and implementation of pilot studies and remedial systems.
  • Team Interaction : Engage with fellow scientists, engineers, project managers, clients, and others to understand the full project lifecycle and regulatory drivers.
  • Mentorship and Growth : Receive mentoring from project teams to help you grow your career at Jacobs.

Here's what you'll need

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, geology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience : At least 5 years of experience on environmental projects, including some site investigation and/or remediation for sediments projects in fresh or estuarine systems.
  • Certifications : 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or the ability to obtain and maintain it.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degrees and Certifications : Master’s degree in a related field and/or certifications such as EIT, GIT, PE, or PG.
  • Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with USEPA regulations, including CERCLA and RCRA.
  • US Citizenship : Required for this position.

The base salary range for this position is $64,400.00 to $97,350.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
