AWS Cloud Architect

Contract – 6+ months
$100-120/hr W2 only
Role Purpose
The IT Architect is a member of a team delivering new technology capabilities to the Company’s owners, customers, and partners within the organization. The IT Architect helps set the vision and parameters that Agile delivery teams operate within. In addition, the IT Architect helps build and support governance processes that ensure that team deliverables meet the Company’s standards for performance, availability, quality, security, and maintainability.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the design of cloud-native, scalable, and cost-effective architectures on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Provide expertise in designing solutions for Infrastructure, Networks, Storage, Compute, and Database in the Cloud.
- Architect hybrid and multi-cloud environments, integrating AWS/GCP services with on-premises and other cloud platforms.
- Define, document, and evangelize Cloud Standards/Architectures/Product Roadmaps for AWS, GCP, Salesforce, SaaS, PaaS, and On-Prem.
- Implement security best practices for Cloud environments, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and data protection.
- Design and enforce security controls such as network isolation, firewalls, and VPNs to safeguard sensitive data and applications.
- Create and maintain detailed architectural artifacts (e.g., architecture diagrams, design documents, data models) to visualize, communicate, and document the cloud solutions and architectures using tools like Lucidchart.
- Document decision-making processes, trade-offs, and rationale behind architecture choices to support future scaling, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Develop a unified architecture that is scalable across the organization and ensures the use of industry and enterprise technology standards.
- Translate industry technology direction to business value and serve as a key advisor to stakeholders.
- Accountable for the development of high-level business cases, influencing senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and their potential application to IT strategies and business plans.
- Analyze systems and processes from end to end, partnering with IT and business colleagues.
- Provide guidance and enterprise-wide influence leading to solutions that are well engineered, operable, maintainable, scalable, and delivered on schedule.
- Advise in decisions regarding strategic partnerships, vendor selection, and acquisitions.
Key Skills & Experiences
Education –
- Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. Degree not required for right experience.
Experience –
- Typically, a minimum of 10 years of progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, technologies, or processes related to the position.
Technical skills and Knowledge –
- Expert understanding of the designs and technology footprints of multiple products within a product family.
- Champion engineering process disciplines (e.g., Scrum, Agile, Kanban, ITIL).
- Champion industry process improvement programs (e.g., CMMI, ISO 9000, FDA, Six Sigma).

The compensation range for this position is $100 to $120 W2 only (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
