  • ACLS
    Job Requirements
  • Must have PCU experience & be able to read strips
  • Experience with Tele/cardiac RN duties
  • Experience with PCU level care
  • Ability to titrate drips
  • Familiarity with common titratable &/or set rate drips such as Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix
  • Able to read and interpret Tele strips
    Schedule Information
  • Shifts are 7a-7p, 7p-7a
  • Rotating shifts will not occur more than weekly
  • Block scheduling may be considered based on unit needs
  • Weekend requirements: Every other
  • Holiday requirements: Every other
    Unit Specific Information
  • Number of beds: 32
  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: adults and geriatrics
  • Patients with cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, and ETOH
  • COVID Bipap patients, occasional general surgical with heart history
  • Medical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia, COVID, acute on chronic conditions, influenza, sepsis
  • RT Equipment includes Bipap, trachs, airvo, etc.
    Additional Details
  • Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4-5, occasionally 5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow 1:3
  • Charge nurse on each shift may take a light patient load
  • Nurse aids/patient care techs goal ratio 1:10
  • Two 12-hour orientation shifts on the first week, independent by the subsequent Sunday
  • Radius Rule: 50 miles exclusion zone for full-time, part-time, or PRN with associated CommonSpirit facilities
  • RTO required upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract), no additional RTO approval after submission
