  • Hospital: St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    Job Requirements
  • 3 years of CVOR experience required
  • Experience with Open Hearts, CABG, Valves essential
  • Must be willing to cross train into general OR
  • Must be willing to cross train into other specialties if CV volumes are low
    Schedule Information
  • Shifts: 0645-1515 Monday-Friday
  • Call schedule made by CV RNs as a group
  • Weeknight Call: 1-2 times per week 1515-0645
  • Weekend Call: every 3-4 weeks Fri 1515-Mon 0645
  • Holiday Call: Rotating holidays
  • Call response time: 15 minutes
  • Sleep room available for post call
    Unit Specific Information
  • Unit: CVOR
  • Shift Supervisor: Charge Nurse for all shifts 7am-11pm M-F; weekends 7am-7pm; manager until 4pm M-F
  • Number of CVOR suites: 2
  • Average number of cases per day: 1-3
  • Types of cases: Open hearts (CABG, Valve, aneurysms), thoracotomies, VATS, Convergent, AAA, carotids, robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5, utilizing Stryker towers
  • Orientation details: 3-4 days hospital clinical orientation, EPIC class, and unit orientation/modules; 4-5 days unit-based orientation; 2 buddy call shifts
  • Orientation is flexible based on recent heart experience
    Additional Details
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Candidates may not be currently working at any facility associated with CommonSpirit
