    Job Requirements
  • MUST BE WILLING to cross train into general OR if CV volumes are low
  • 3 years of CVOR experience Open Hearts, CABG, Valves
  • Must be willing to work holidays
  • Must be willing to float to the floor as 'helping hands'
  • Staff must be willing to float to other specialties if CV volumes are low
    Schedule Information
  • 0645-1515 M-F
  • CV RNs make their own call schedule as a group
  • Weeknight/Call Requirements: 1-2 times per week 1515-0645
  • Weekend/Call Requirements: every 3-4 weeks Fri 1515-Mon 0645
  • Holiday/Call Requirements: Rotating holidays
  • Call response time: 15 minutes
  • 8 hour reprieve shifts for post call
  • Housing should also be available nearby to make call
  • Sleep room available
  • Days+Call - guaranteed 32hrs, scheduled 40hrs
  • Call hours 1515-0645 Mon-Thurs; 1515 Fri-0645 Mon for weekend
  • First to float
  • Rotating holidays
    Unit Specific Information
  • # of Suites: 2 CVOR suites
  • Average # of cases per day: 1-3
  • Common Cases: Open hearts (CABG, Valve, aneurysms), thoracotomies, VATS, Convergent, AAA, carotids, ION robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5, Stryker towers
  • Is scrubbing required for RNs?: No
  • Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Charge Nurse for all shifts 7a-11p M-F, weekends 7a-7p, manager until 4p M-F
  • OR techs?: Yes
  • EMR: EPIC
  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3-4 days hospital clinical orientation, EPIC class and unit orientation/modules; 4-5 days unit based orientation; 2 buddy call shifts, flexible orientation based on recent heart experience
    Additional Details
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided
  • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions
