Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
Aireon is growing and we are looking for a Human Resources Coordinator who is local to the DC, MD, VA (DMV) area to join our Human Resources team to help us grow even faster. This position is hybrid and reports to the Sr. Director of Human Resources. In this role, you will help organize, coordinate, and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HR department with matters relating to employment, compensation and benefits, performance, and employee relations.
What You'll Do
- Maintain employee records and data in the HRIS
- Onboard new hires and coordinate new hire orientation
- Assist with performance management procedures
- Generate and submit reports on general HR activity
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
- Help plan and coordinate company events
- Assist in administering health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations
- Support additional ad hoc HR projects
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO:
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources
- Working understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Desired Qualifications
- Human Resources certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.)
- Experience using Workday, ADP WorkforceNow and iCIMS
- Bachelors Degree in HR or related field

- Dive into learning the company structure, HR processes, and current HR initiatives
At 3 months we'll expect you to...
- Understand ADP WorkforceNow, Workday, iCIMS, Awardco
- Understand recruiting, onboarding, offboarding and benefits processes
- Assist with benefit enrollments and changes
- Participate in coordination of new hire orientation
- Assist with onboarding employees
- Maintain employee records (HRIS platforms and SharePoint)
At 6 months we'll expect you to...
- Fully understand HR policies and practices
- Coordinate new hire orientation
- Onboard new employees
- Assist in offboarding employees
- Help administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Document HR policies and processes as required
- Assist in roll out of employee morale initiatives
- Plan, budget, and manage company events
- Provide support on other HR projects as needed
At 12 months we'll expect you to...
- Own the day-to-day operations of the department and have a full understanding of all aspects of your role and responsibilities with little to no guidance
About the Team
- Currently a team of 4 located in McLean, VA and remote in Indiana
- The team uses Microsoft Office tools for collaboration and communication
- We conduct weekly team meetings, one-on-one syncs and check-ins as needed
