Job Description
AECOM Burnaby is currently seeking a Systems Implementation Engineer with specialized skills in Transportation Systems, to join our multidisciplinary Western Canada Systems Engineering team and work on delivering an existing and future portfolio of projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide Systems Implementation expertise within Transportation projects, commonly public rail projects but also bus services, ferries, and other transportation infrastructure projects that utilize Systems.
Support and influence Systems designs by providing reviews and input from an implementation lens, taking into consideration constructability, field integration, and testing & commissioning.
Provide expertise in Systems Testing & Commissioning by producing project-level T&C documentation, providing T&C input into project schedules and budgets, and participating in technical oversight of T&C field activities.
Provide expertise related to Constructability of Systems, such as informing detailed design, and input into project schedules and budgets.
Interact with client, major stakeholders and AHJs.
Coordinate with and support project management, other disciplines, and project teams on Systems Implementation matters, including support of project pursuits.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior personnel as part of team development.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree + 8 years of relevant experience in delivery of Systems for rail and transit projects.
Professional Engineer designation.
Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years or more of relevant experience in public rail and transit is preferred.
Exposure to a transit Operations & Maintenance environment is preferred.
Experience in technical oversight of LRV Systems, including technical reviews, vehicle integration and testing & commissioning, is preferred.
Well acquainted and able to relate to Communications systems, Power Supply & Distribution systems, Signalling & Train Control systems, and other systems typically applicable to rail and transit projects.
Familiar with other design disciplines typically requiring coordination with Systems design such as Architectural, Structural, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical.
Familiar with non-technical disciplines typically requiring support from Systems team within projects such as Project Management, Requirements Management, Verification & Validation, RAM, Safety Assurance, Quality Management and others.
Able to work with minimum supervision.
Able to multitask due to concurrent projects.
Additional Information
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $117k - $185k.
