Human Resources Generalist, Eastern Region MISSISSAUGA, ON | Reporting to: Manager, Human Resources POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist acts as a resource to all employees in all areas of Human Resources. The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day execution and implementation of HR programs and initiatives ensuring compliance to legislation and company policies with a result of positively impacting the business and its employees. A modern HR practitioner who is comfortable asking why, producing solutions and embarking on new directions or ideas.
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide service to employees regarding questions including benefits, time off requests, policies, records/practices and provide timely resolution of employee issues. Support the performance management and project implementation process.
In partnership with the HR Manager, support the leave of absence and return to work process including follow-ups, documentation and sharing information with managers and payroll.
Prepare any applicable documentation including Compensation Changes, RIBO Employment Confirmation Letters, LTD Correspondence, and Performance Improvement Plans.
As necessary, organize HR communication delivery including company-wide correspondence, policy rollout / implementation, follow-up for feedback, and support/lead various ad hoc HR projects currently in progress.
Lead the delivery and maintenance of various HR Programs including Education Reimbursement, Milestone Celebrations, and Health and Wellness Initiatives.
Support the maintenance of all employee designations and licenses including administration of extra-provincial licensing, RIBO licenses, IBAO and Insurance Institute Memberships.
Offer support and guidance to various employee-led groups including the Joint Health & Safety Committee, Charity Committee, and Education Committee.
Conduct 1-week, 3-month, 6-month and 1-year touch bases with junior and entry level new hires for broker partners within JD Consolidated to ensure smooth onboarding and gather feedback on training procedures.
Run reporting to support the collection, review and analysis of HR data, metrics, and statistics and apply this data to make recommendations related to recruitment, retention, compliance, and DEI&I initiatives.
Act as the main intermediary for escalations and projects in progress with various HR vendors, including ADP, Canada Life, Sunlife, and Terry Berry.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS 3 years of experience in Human Resources
Working towards obtaining CHRP designation is an asset
Able to run meaningful reports, collect metrics and analyze data
Strong business communication skills, oral and written
Dedicated work ethic and integrity while maintaining confidentiality
Team player with excellent time management and prioritization skills
