MISSISSAUGA, ON | Reporting to: Vice President, Human Resources POSITION OVERVIEW Join our dynamic team at Navacord, a leading insurance brokerage firm known for its innovation and commitment to excellence. The Human Resources Director will play an integral role in the delivery and execution of the company’s HR strategy and practices and serve as a business partner to key leaders with the shared corporate goals and values in mind. We operate under an HR shared services model, supporting various presidents and broker partners across Canada. We are seeking a talented and experienced HR Director to lead a small team of HR professionals.
The HR Director will play a crucial role in supporting the Vice President of HR with strategic initiatives, projects, and programs. The Human Resources Director will leverage their HR and business expertise to provide in-depth guidance, advice, and coaching in the areas of change management, driving high performance, organizational design and effectiveness, leadership effectiveness to drive employee engagement, mid-and-long-term workforce planning, and resolving escalated employee relations matters.
As a key member of the HR leadership team, the HR Director will provide guidance and support to ensure effective HR service delivery. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in compensation, mergers and acquisitions, and employee relations, and will be instrumental in leading and implementing strategic HR initiatives across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of HR professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Provide guidance and support to the team, ensuring efficient and effective HR service delivery.
Strategic HR Initiatives: Collaborate with the VP of HR to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with the company’s business goals and objectives.
Drive the development and execution of HR strategies in areas such as talent acquisition, performance management, employee experience, and DE&I.
Serve as the organization’s expert in compensation, providing guidance on compensation structures, salary reviews, and incentive programs.
Ensure that compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the company’s overall HR strategy.
Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to support organizational transformation and culture change.
Develop and implement change management plans, including communication strategies, training, and support mechanisms.
Employee Relations: Oversee employee relations activities, providing guidance and support to managers and employees on conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
HR Shared Services: Support various presidents and broker partners within the HR shared services model, delivering tailored HR solutions that meet their unique needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance HR service delivery and improve employee experience.
REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is ideal.
Professional HR certification is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles, with a strong focus on compensation, program management, employee relations, and talent acquisition.
Proven experience in leading and developing HR teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead strategic HR initiatives and drive organizational change.
Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations across multiple provinces.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and influence at all levels of the organization.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
