The TELUS SmartHome+ Client Interfaces team is a highly collaborative group looking for an ambitious Software Delivery Manager to help develop the processes, people, and culture that will bring to market a world-class mobile application for the connected home! The team is developing an exciting new approach to the connected home, combining various existing and new offerings to build a complete picture. We will bring together home internet, smart home devices, security, energy management, and more to create a truly exciting way for those in Canada and beyond to re-imagine their home!
What you’ll do:
Our team is working to develop a world-class connected home experience, which extends beyond the basics, truly enabling you to take charge of your home. As a Software Development Manager within the team, you will focus on building our people, assisting in problem-solving complex issues, and assisting in decision-making for the team. You will be the go-to problem solver for two development squads each working on specific customer-focused areas of our broader application.
Here's how:
You will support a team of direct reports, helping to guide them to optimal solutions, weighing in the complexities of implementation, deadlines, and the overall requirements of our business and customers. You will work closely with the director of mobile development, and other SDMs to build and implement a vision for our development teams. Working closely with team members, you will guide, mentor, and collaborate to build an exceptional software team.
Qualifications What you bring:
A bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar experience
Recognized for your ability to bring people together and foster a culture of creativity and success
Extensive experience working on and improving agile software development teams
Noted for your ability to navigate an ambiguous environment and guide team members forward
Experience working with mobile application development
Previous experience in iterative process improvement
Known for your experience using empathy to assist a team in their growth, understand challenges and bring people together to solve problems
An exceptional storyteller, with an ability to simplify technical information and craft it into a compelling vision and strategy
Great to have:
MBA or MSc in a technical field
Experience in mentorship using a coach-like style
Past experience delivering a software system starting from the ground up
Salary Range: $108,000-$162,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 20%
