Responsibilities
Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of consulting engagements with a focus on strategy and planning services with primary on public sector entities, with accompanying work in the private, not-for-profit and Indigenous sectors.
Execute strategic planning, transformation planning, business planning, feasibility studies, operational planning, program review, program re-design, financial analysis and other forms of management consulting.
Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met, plus grow and develop long-term client relationships.
Review, design and develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations and other correspondence.
Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business.
Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.
Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, economics, political science or other related fields.
CMC, PMP, Lean or other related certifications are considered an asset.
8+ years of consulting experience, ideally in a client-service environment, would be considered an asset.
Strong business development and practice management skills.
Demonstration of advanced project management skills and tactics.
Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills.
