Are you ready to take your career to the next level in 2025? A Chambers-ranked, growing energy practice in Washington, D.C., is seeking an Energy, Regulation & Litigation Associate with 2-7 years of experience to join their team and work on impactful, high-stakes energy regulatory matters.
About the Role:
In this role, you'll represent clients on a broad range of regulatory issues, including securing regulatory authorizations, handling administrative litigation before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state utility commissions, and engaging in appellate litigation before federal and state courts. You’ll work on large infrastructure projects, including renewable, thermal, and nuclear power generation, oil and natural gas pipelines, power transmission, and LNG export terminals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft pleadings, briefs, and engage in policy-oriented advocacy
- Negotiate settlements and contracts
- Collaborate with experts to prepare testimony and conduct administrative hearings
- Provide regulatory support for M&A, private equity, and project finance transactions
- Offer compliance counseling and strategic advisory services on a wide variety of energy regulatory matters
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Prior experience working before FERC
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Strong interest in energy law and regulatory issues
- Excellent academics
- Team-oriented and collaborative approach
Salary Range: $235,000 - $420,000
