Job Title: 2nd Shift Refrigeration Maintenance Technician

Salary: $27.00 – $35.00/hr

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain refrigeration systems, with a focus on ammonia systems, electrical refrigeration, and industrial maintenance. This role is vital to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility’s refrigeration systems while upholding the Client’s safety, food safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, piping, insulation, and other ammonia-related systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, conduct safety checks, and ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and SQF protocols.
• Work with plant compressed air and water supply systems, including chill water, hot water, city water, and glycol systems.
• Complete documentation, communicate effectively with management, QA, vendors, and USDA representatives, and follow technical manuals.
• Wear a respirator (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) after certification and pass required physical and pulmonary tests.
• Work efficiently with minimal supervision, adjust to different environments, and cover shifts as needed for vacation, training, or special projects.

Requirements:

• At least 6 months of recent experience in maintenance with a single employer or recent graduation from an industrial maintenance program.
• Ability to work in varying conditions (heat, cold, wet, and other harsh environments).
• Strong communication skills and basic math and technical reading skills.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, climb, push, and reach, with a willingness to wear a respirator when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or training in refrigeration or Process Safety Management (PSM) is advantageous, with a strong willingness to learn ammonia refrigeration.

• This position is a backfill role, does not include relocation or direct reports, and requires a minimum 365-day rehire waiting period for former Client employees.
